MORE ON MAESER
Salutations! My name is Nadine Maeser and I am a reporter and anchor at WECT News in Wilmington, North Carolina. I joined the Channel 6 team in March 2011.
In December 2012, I was awarded the WECT News/Fox Wilmington's "Team Player" award.
WECT/Fox Wilmington General Manager Gary McNair said, "the employee to receive this award should be someone who is great about helping others and works for the good of the team."
"I really like what the folks said about this nominee," he said. "Nadine is always quick to lend a helping hand, even when her plate is already full. She is always willing to go the extra mile. She continually provides more content than is asked of her, changes her schedule on the fly, works extra hours, thinks of her co-workers’ needs and rarely asks for anything in return.”
Prior to joining the WECT team, I worked at the ABC affilitate in Wilmington. During my time at WWAY Newschannel 3, I worked as a one-man band reporter and fill-in anchor from December 2009 to March 2011.
I grew up in New Jersey and came to North Carolina to attend college.
In 2009, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in broadcast journalism and electronic communication.
During my time at UNC, I served as bureau chief and as an on-air reporter for ABC's "News on Campus" program. UNC was one of six colleges in the nation to report for the network. I was also very active in Carolina Week, which is UNC's student-run newscast. I reported and produced for the Emmy-award winning student newscast, which airs live in 16 counties in North Carolina.
When I'm not spending time in the television studio or out in the field, I enjoy the beach, exercising, cooking and traveling. In July 2012, I traveled to England and attended the 2012 Summer Olympics.

My work can also be seen nationally on the daily syndicated TV news program, America Now.
